What's your keyboard?

I just bought this Logitech Access 600 keyboard for about 15 francs. I'm excited to use this when I go home already for gaming and music. What's your keyboard?

What's your keyboard?

I personally use three :O

The mainkeyboard at the maincomputer is a SteelSeries 7G

Then there is a Logitech DiNovo Notebook:

And there is also an old but indestructable Microsoft Internet PS2 Keyboard :)

I prefer the SteelSeries 7G. The keys pressure point is almost excellent in my opinion and I also think that it will last forever. You can even remove the single keys and when you hit with your fists up of what ever reason ... :) nothing happens. It really seems to be very robust! I just love it :O

Is it what is called a mechanical keyboard? Who makes Steel Series keyboards?

Yes, as far as I know it's a mechanical keyboard. The manufactuer is SteelSeries. Do have quite a lot of very good gaming peripherals in their portfolio.

I use the Roccat Arvo Keyboard which is very small and excellent for gaming in my opinion. Cause it is so small, you can take it to every LAN Party or to a friend without a problem ;)

I notice that the 7G and Roccat keyboards are designed as bare minimum boards. I guess its simplicity and toughness have its appeal...

I personally don't need additional buttons on my keyboard. Your conclusion therefore is absolutely right. Regarding peripherals I love simplicity and durability. I also demand that a product does best what it should do best. If for example I think that the pressure point isn't perfect for me I couldn't care less about the entire product. Another thing is that I used to love notebook keyboards because I can type faster but on the other hand they are less reliable. The Logitech Di Novo Notebook you see above is my third one.

I just checked out the Steelseries website and our local online store. Wow, they're not inexpensive but they sure look like built very touch!

I like laptop keyboards as well because they're quieter than most desktop keyboards. My Logitech (albeit a low-end model) is really noisy.

There's one feature that I really look forward to using in the future--a keyboard with lighted keys that I can use when gaming in the dark.

If you don't like the keyboard being noisy then that would be the biggest issue for you when using a SteelSeries 7G because it's quite loud actually.

Do you know the Razer Lycosa Keyboard? It comes with illuminated keys.

We also have a review about this keybaord online: Razer Lycosa Gaming Keyboard

Yup, the Razers are quite popular in my city for PC gamers. Although the more popular ones are the Logitech G15, especially rev2.

Can you change the color of the Lycosa?

I guess the 7G is noisy because its mechanical, no?

No you can't change the colour, unfortunately.

Yes, it is a mechanical keyboard and I also think that's why it's quite loud :)
