Hi, the SSD is connected to a white port (one of the 2 from the Marvell Controller), and yes, it has a marvell controllerHi Circo Hades
Can you tell me to which port you connected your SSD? Am I right with my guess that there is a Marvell controller on your board?
Yes, it doesn't have SATA-III onboard controller...so I'm stuck with these performances? What a crap...in SATA-II it goes faster in writing but slower in reading...I had this issue myself once ... Unfortunately you can't do anything because it's the Marvell controller that is quite bad.
If you connect the SSD to an Intel SSD Controller and install Intel RST next to the usual chipset driver you'll get the full performance. But when I'm not completely mistaken the P55 doesn't have Intel SATA-III onboard.
@Circo Hades
I dunno ... but something that might be an option for you is to sell the Kingston SSD and buy a RevoDrive 3 instead. Like this you would get even more performance than the SSD offers even under optimal conditions and you wont have the issues with the ugly Marvell controller.
