Ursprünglich nur als Technologie für Computerspiele angesehen, werden die NVIDIA-GeForce-GPUs mit CUDA-Technologie heute auf breiter Front im wissenschaftlichen Umfeld eingesetzt: zum Beispiel in der biomedizinischen Forschung, der Weltraumerkundung oder bei der Suche nach ausserterrestrischer Intelligenz.
