Intel hat heute den Prototypen des ersten Chips mit Silizium-basierter optischer Datenverbindung und integriertem Laser vorgestellt. Dieser Chip stellt einen wichtigen Fortschritt in der Forschung dar, künftig Lichtstrahlen statt Elektronen zum Datentransport im und rund um den Computer einzusetzen.
