Nvidia Shield tablet pictured, coming on July 22nd

With 7.9-inch screen and Tegra K1

Nvidia's new Tegra K1-based 7.9-inch Shield Tablet launch is apparently just around the corner as we now have first leaked press picture of the new tablet as well as its launch date set for 22nd of July.

The first press picture of the Nvidia Shield Tablet comes from a popular source of smartphone and tablet information leaks, evleaks, so we are quite sure it is real. While the picture does not reveal much details, it looks like the new Nvidia Shield tablet will be quite similar to the earlier released Nvidia Tegra Note tablet, at least when it comes to design. We can also see that it will feature front stereo speakers as well as a front camera.

According to earlier reports, Nvidia's Shield tablet should be based on a 7.9-inch 2048x1536 screen, powered by Nvidia's Tegra K1 SoC clocked at 2.1GHz and paired up with 2GB of RAM. We are still not sure about the rest of the specifications but it should feature integrated 802.11ac 5GHz WiFi which Nvidia needs for its GameStream technology.

According to Fudzilla.com, the official launch date for Nvidia Shield tablet is set for Tuesday, July 22nd. While there are still no precise details regarding the price, first reports suggests that it should sell for anywhere between US $299 and US $399, when pre-orders start.
