All about silence

Fractal Design has unveiled its latest PC case in the Define Series, the Fractal Design Define R5. Representing an evolution of the popular Define Series, the new Define R5 is designed with silence in mind but also packed with enthusiast-oriented features including wide air and liquid cooling support.

In order to make the case as silent as possible, the Define R5 features "strategically" placed dense sound-absorbing material, ModuVent fan vent covers and comes equipped with new Dynamic Series fans.

The rest of the features and specifications for the new Fractal Design Define R5 include slots for up to eight 3.5-inch HDDs which can be also used for 2.5-inch devices, two dedicated 2.5-inch SSD position, two removable 5.25-inch bays, four ModuVent plates (three at the top and one on the side), nine fan positions with two Fractal Design Dynamic GP14 140mm fans bundled with the case, filtered fan slots in the front and at the bottom as well as front I/O with two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, power and reset button, HDD activity LED and audio in/out jacks and three-speed fan controller at the front panel.

The new Define R5 will also be quite good for those that love neat cable management as it features 20-35mm of space behind the motherboard plate and comes with included velcro straps. The left side panel of the Define R5 comes with Quick Release System while the front door can switch opening positions.

As noted earlier, the new Define R5 also has extensive liquid cooling support with support for up to 420mm long radiator at the top, 360mm long one at the front, 140mm radiator at the back and 240mm radiator at the bottom of the case.

The new Fractal Design Define R5 will be available in Black, Titanium (black case, titanium front panel) and White color options, with and without windowed panel. It should be available in December with a price set at around US $110 for the solid panel and US $120 for the windowed version.
