Elite: Dangerous can be explored for 150.000 years

That is one big game

Elite: Dangerous is shaping up to be one of the most important games and while it was officially launched back in December, according to developer, it will take over 150.000 years before players will explore the entire galaxy in the game.

According to the developer, the Elite: Dangerous has over 400 billion star systems and while it is being mapped pretty quickly, with players visiting 17,585 new star systems each day, or 732 per hour and 12 per minute, it will take them 150,895 years to map the entire galaxy, at least if we do not see a large boost in number of players.

Developer has also launched a rather neat contest that offers US $1500 prize for a player that will be the first to reach Elite status in exploration.

In any case, Elite: Dangerous sounds like a really good game and although we did not have a chance to try it out yet, we would love to hear your feedback on the game.
