Sandisk introduces 200GB microSD card

20 hours of 1080p video

While the capacity of memory cards is constantly increasing and we have already seen plenty of 128GB ones, Sandisk certainly surprised everyone with their new Sandisk Ultra 200GB microSD class 10 card.

Earlier, Sandisk released the world's first 128GB microSD card and has now made a follow up with a 200GB one which is a 56 percent increase in storage capacity. Based on a UHS-I rating, the new Sandisk Ultra microSD card will offer transfer speeds of up to 90MB/s and has enough capacity to store up to 20 hours of 1080p video.

The new Sandisk Ultra 200GB microSD card is also water, shock, magnet and temperature proof. It comes with a ten-year limited warranty and should be available sometime in Q2 with an MSRP of US $399.

Earlier released Sandisk Ultra 128GB microSD card can be found for around US $130, which makes the 200GB one a rather steep premium product.
