Intel Skylake-S CPUs detailed in leaked slides

Support for both DDR3 and DDR4 memory

Since we are just a few months away from an official launch of Intel's next-gen Skylake processors, it does not come as a surprise that leaks are starting to show up, including the latest one that shows a bit more details regarding both the CPU and the chipset.

According to the slides published by Expreview.com, the Skylake-S desktop CPU lineup will come in 35W, 65W and 95W TDP versions, with 95W lineup featuring reserved for enthusiast market and coming with unlocked multiplier.

The new set of slides also confirm earlier rumors that Skylake will support both DDR3 and DDR4 memory and the CPU will end up with 16 PCI-Express Gen3 lanes, just like both Broadwell and Haswell.

The slides also suggest that chipset will have 40 percent more high-speed I/O with increased port flexibility although the number of PCIe lanes in the chipset is not detailed.

These leaked slides also suggest that Skylake is aimed at Q3 release, which fits with earlier reports that we might see it in late-August.
