Three out of four PC gamers running on Geforce

Nvidia dominating PC graphics market

Nvidia is apparently dominating the PC graphics market and according to a recent graph, which shows all the GPU launches since Q3 2003, three out of four PC gamers own an Nvidia Geforce graphics card and AMD is currently at its low when it comes to PC graphics market.

Nvidia is currently doing quite well with Maxwell-based graphics cards, and according to a graph posted over at Beyond3D forums, which shows all the GPU launches from Q3 2003, back in the times of ATI, when Radeon X850 Pro/XT graphics cards launched in Q1 2005 helped it reach 50.5 percent of the GPU market share, things started to drop for AMD, up until Q4 2014 when AMD GPUs hold 24 percent of the market and Nvidia is at 76 percent.

The graph is quite interesting as it shows when AMD actually managed to bounce back a bit, but for now things look quite grim for AMD. AMD did not do that bad when it comes to the rest of the graphics market as its APUs are happily running in both Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

AMD might bring back some of the PC graphics market share with the upcoming Radeon 300 series but there is slim chance it will bounce back to that 50.5 percent.
