Nvidia holds 81 percent of GPU market

02.09.2015: According to the latest report from JPR, Nvidia is currently holding a big piece of the GPU AIB market while AMD has been losing market share.

According to the report from Jon Peddie Research Nvidia currently holds 81.9 percent of the GPU AIB market while AMD has been struggling and its market share dropped from 22 percent to 18 percent compared to the last quarter and down from 38 percent in the same quarter last year.

The same report suggest that total GPU AIB shipments have dropped down to 9.4 million during Q2 2015 and even it did influence Nvidia, which shipments decreased by 12 percent, it still has a large market share.

JPR report also noted that the AIB GPU market benefited from the enthusiast segment PC growth, mostly coming from the recent launch of new graphics cards but the demand for high-end PCs and such hardware have dropped pushing AIBs to find more sales in the mainstream consumer market.

AMD is not doing well and recent launch of Radeon Fury and R9 Nano lineup might help in future reports but Nvidia is still holding an impressive part of the market share.
