Star Wars: Battlefront open beta benchmarks are out

Works well and favors AMD Radeon

According to some of the first benchmark results from Star Wars: Battlefront game the game appears to work well on most graphics cards including Geforce GTX 950 and Radeon R9 285 so gamers should have no problem running this game.

While most users running on mid-range graphics cards will have to stick to 1920x1080 resolution, according to benchmark results done by Guru3D.com, which includes about 18 different graphics cards from both AMD and Nvidia, the game does quite well and the performance is in line to what you would expect.

Guru3D.com tested three resolutions, all set at the same Ultra settings with FoV at 55, 1920x1080 full HD, 2560x1440 WQHD and 3840x2160 4K/UHD. In case you consider 60 frames per second as optimal, you will need at least Radeon R9 280X or Geforce GTX 970 graphics card. The Geforce GTX 770 and R9 285 can also get you playable frame rates which are quite close to 60 FPS. As we consider that everything above 40 FPS is playable, you would be able to use both the GTX 960 and GTX 950.

If you have a WHQD 2560x1440 resolution monitor, you will need at least the Radeon R9 290 or Geforce GTX 980/GTX Titan Black. For 4K/UHD 3840x2160 resolution, it appears that you will have to go for highest-end graphics cards as at these image quality settings, even Geforce GTX 980 Ti and Fury X have trouble going over 45 FPS.

While most results are pretty good on both AMD and Nvidia graphics cards, it appears that the game favors AMD Radeon graphics cards a bit but since this is an open beta phase and we are dealing with Beta graphics card drivers from both camps, things might be slightly different when the final version of the game launches.

The more in-depth results as well as some details regarding memory usage on some graphics cards can be found over at Guru3D.com and we will post some screenshots from the game as soon as open beta launches later today.
