AMD Radeon R9 Fury X2 could be launching in December

Dual GPU beast incoming

AMD has already promised that we will see a dual-GPU graphics card based on two Fiji GPUs and HBM before the end of the year and according to the latest report, it could be launched at a special event scheduled for December.

The dual-GPU Fiji GPU based Radeon R9 Fury X2 has been already pictured back when AMD unveiled its Fiji GPU and the Radeon R9 Fury lineup. Back then it was suggested that Radeon R9 Fury X2 could be using two R9 Nano Fiji GPUs in order to keep the TDP under 300W.

The latest tease came from no other than Johan Andersson from DICE which wrote on his Twitter account :"Dat feeling when your just arrived closed liquid cooling pre-release GPU turns out to not be so closed after all". This suggest that he managed to get his hands on one of the pre-production samples of the new graphics card, most likely the Radeon R9 Fury X2. The report regarding a special event in December came from Videocardz.com, which usually has a good track on graphics card leaks.

It is also not clear if the dual-GPU graphics will actually be called the Radeon R9 Fury X2 as nothing is still carved in stone but we will certainly keep looking for more information.
