Sandisk announces the new Z410 SSD series

Based on 15nm TLC NAND

Sandisk has announced its newest 2.5-inch solid-state drive (SSD) series, the Sandisk Z410, which will be based on 15nm TLC NAND.

The new Sandisk Z410 SSD series will be available in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities and offer sequential transfer performance of up to 535MB/s for read and up to 445MB/s for write, depending on the capacity. The same goes for the 4K random read and write performance and it is set at up to 36K and 68K IOPS, depending on the capacity.

The MTBF for the new Sandisk Z410 SSD series is at 1.75M hours and the endurance rating is set at 40, 80 and 120 TBW, for the 120, 240 and 480GB version, respectively.

As it is based on 15nm TLC NAND and an undisclosed controller, Sandisk had to implement an SLC cache in order to deal with TLC NAND drawbacks.

Unfortunately, Sandisk did not reveal any details regarding the price but did not that these will be backed by a 3-year warranty.
