Racoon hits 6.7GHz with Core i5-6600K

Plans to push it harder and further

Our house overclocker, Mike (Racoon) Buchroither, has just gotten a new toy in the form of a Core i5-6600K CPU and he has been overclocking the hell out of it, currently hitting 6.7GHz.

Thanks to our cooperation with MIFCOM Mike "racoon" Buchroither has a new Core i5-6600K CPU to toy with. While the frequency of 6.704MHz should be enough for the 2nd place in the rankings on HWBOT.org, unfortunately, the CPU-Z validation file was corrupted, so we will have to wait for another one. Thankfully, Racoon is not stopping there and will continue to push even harder until the last drop of LN2 has been spent.

The rest of the hardware includes the ASUS Maximus VIII Impact motherboard, G.Skill's memory, an ASUS GTX 750 Ti and Seasonic 1200W Platinum to power it all.

The sample looks very promising and we're sure that there will be a validation of 6.7 GHz sooner or later. Nevertheless for now there is a CPU-Z screenshot we can show you guys.
