Tesoro unveils new infrared switches at Computex

To go into gaming chair business soon

At the Computex 2016 show currently going in Taipei, Taiwan, Tesoro showed a couple of new products and unveiled its future plans, including a new type of keyboard switches based on infrared technology.

One of the first keyboards from Tesoro that will use these new infrared switches is the Tesoro Excalibur Spectrum.

Thanks to these infrared switches, the keyboard does not need to detect the key press mechanically, but rather uses a infrared sensors. It also means that the sensor can't be contaminated, making them both water and dust proof.

The new infrared switches are also significantly faster than traditional mechanical switches, offering a 0.1ms key-press detection rate.

In addition to the new IR switches, Tesoro also showed its earlier announced Gram Spectrum keyboard, which offers a sampling rate of 1,000Hz and 16.7 million RGB LEDs and will be available in black and white color options as of next month.

Unfortunately, Tesoro is still finalizing the Excalibur Spectrum so we still do not have a price or the availability date but we will probably see and hear about more products based on this IR sensor technology soon.

Tesoro has also announced that the company will soon go into gaming chair market so we are looking forward to see some of those as well.
