XFX Radeon RX 480 Black Edition spotted

Working at 1338MHz Boost clock

We already heard rumors that XFX might be working on a Black Edition series Radeon RX 480 graphics card and today we have some more details.

According to the set of leaked slides, the XFX Radeon RX 480 Black Edition will have a custom PCB with 6+2-phase VRM, powered by an 8-pin PCIe power connector, and should end up with a GPU Boost clock of 1338MHz, while memory will remain at its reference 8GHz clock.

The high GPU Boost clock is apparently enough for the RX 480 to be slightly slower than the GTX 980 in 3DMark but pairing two of these in Crossfire should offer performance higher than the GTX 1080.

It uses XFX's own dual-fan cooler with a hefty heatsink and four copper heatpipes. IT also features Fan Stop function, has a backplate and comes with fancy LED illumination on the XFX logo.

Unfortunately, it is still not clear when the XFX RX 480 Black Edition is going to be available or what the price will be.
