ADATA unveils new Ultimate SU800 SSD series

With Micron 3D NAND flash

ADATA has unveiled its new Ultimate SU800 SSD series which will use the latest Micron 3D NAND flash and Silicon Motion controller.

To be available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacities and based on a standard 2.5-inch form-factor with SATA 6Gbps interface, the new ADATA Ultimate SU800 SSD series is based on Micron's 3D NAND flash and uses Silicon Motion SM2258 controller, with SLC Caching and DRAM Cache Buffer features.

According to ADATA, the Ultimate SU800 SSD series will offer sequential read and write performance of up to 560MB/s and 520MB/s and although we do not have a precise endurance rating, these have a MTBF of 2 million hours, a 25 percent increase compared to a 2D NAND-based SSDs.

The ADATA Ultimate SU800 SSD series will also feature LDPC (low density parity check) error correcting code, data shaping, and RAID Engine features and will be backed by a 3-year warranty.

The new ADATA Ultimate SU800 SSD series should be available in Europe sometime in September with a price set at around €50 for the 128GB model, €80 for the 256GB and €135 for the 512GB while the 1TB model should come later at yet to be detailed price.
