Galax unveils new GTX 1060 6GB EX OC White Edition

White shroud and matching backplate

Galax has unveiled yet another version of the Geforce GTX 1060 graphics card, this time with an all-white shroud design and a matching white backplate, the Galax GTX 1060 EX OC White Edition.

While the PCB did not change from the earlier all-black version and remains in a standard black color, Galax made sure that the shroud, fans and the backplate are all white. It still uses a custom cooler with two 90mm fans that should keep the GP106 GPU well cooled.

As it was the case with earlier released all-black version, this one also features 6GB of 8000MHz clocked GDDR5 memory on a 192-bit memory interface and a factory-overclocked GPU working at 1556MHz GPU base and 1771MHz GPU Boost clocks.

In case you missed it, the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 is based on Nvidia's GP106 Pascal GPU and packs 1280 CUDA cores, 80 TMUs and 48 ROPs. It is available in 3GB and 6GB versions with GDDR5 memory and has a 120W TDP, so it needs a single 6-pin PCIe power connector.

Unfortunately, Galax did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date but we suspect it could be coming soon with a price similar to the all-black version, around US $250.
