Razer acquires audio company THX

Becomes major owner of the company

Razer has pulled a rather surprising move and has acquired the majority of the THX assets.

While no precise financial details were disclosed, this is a rather big surprise since THX is an audio company.

THX is an audio company founded by none other than George Lucas back in 1983 and is mostly focused on both cinema and home audio as well as audio certification.

According to known details, THX will continue to operate as an independent subsidiary of Razer and still focus on its three main areas of business as well as expand to headphones, Bluetooth speakers, streaming video, set-top boxes, and connected speakers, something that has been doing for Razer earlier with the Man'O'War 7.1 headphones.

Razer is also preparing a new product that should be unveiled on October 20th so it might have something to do with THX as well. The teaser, called "unveil the shadow", points to a monitor or a gaming system or something similar but you never know.

We are certainly looking forward to future products launched by Razer and the involvement of THX in its development.
