AMD Ryzen CPUs to be launched at GDC 2017

Maybe on February 27th

According to the latest rumors, it looks like AMD will finally launch their Ryzen CPUs during GDC 2017 in San Francisco. So far this is just a rumor based on the GDC's session schedule,l which shows an event called "Optimizing for AMD Ryzen CPU". This session is presented by AMD itself.

Last year at GDC 2016 AMD showcased their Polaris 10 GPU architecture and launched the Radeon Pro Duo (Dual R9 Fury X) GPU. In other words it would not be the first time that AMD shows a new product at GDC.

Since we’ve heard that the NDA on AMD Ryzen might end by the end of February a launch during GDC, on the 27th of February, would make perfect sense. Nevertheless all this information needs to be taken with a grain of salt, since those are “just” rumors. Apparently, by the end of February we will know more.

For everybody interested in the event, GDC 2017 is scheduled to take place from February 27th until March 3rd in San Francisco and we will certainly keep an eye on that.
