96k USD for a trip to Malta
Posted by Marc Büchel
AMD
Yesterday we reported, that somebody put an upcoming Radeon HD 7990 Malta on eBay. Things like this seem to happen more often these days but still, the entire story is quite unusual, since somebody actually bid an absolutely mind blowing stupid 96'000 US-Dollar for the card.

To be honest, we really can't believe, that somebody actually paid 96'000 US-Dollar for a piece of plastic and silicon. We rather think that AMD had an excellent idea for a marketing gag. However, if there really is somebody paying 96'000 US-Dollar, then AMD could have found a way to make quite decent money. Maybe they even found a way to rebuy their Texas Campus sooner than expected?!
