Kingston expands its mS200 mSATA SSD lineup

Adds 240 and 480GB models

The mS200 lineup of SSDs from Kingston has been expanded and will feature a brand new controller as well as a larger capacity.

Alongside the full range of S200 SATA SSDs, Kingston has also announced the new mS200 lineup which will be based on smaller mSATA form-factor. Earlier available in 30, 60 and 120GB capacities, the new mSATA mS200 lineup will now get 240 and 480GB models as well.

The older Sandforce SF-2241 controller has been replaced with faster Sandforce SF-2281 one which brings support for higher capacity as well as some performance improvements so the 240GB model will offer 540/530 MB/s for sequential read and write performance and 75K/40K IOPS for random read and write performance while the 480GB model will end up with 530/340 MB/s and 72K/18K IOPS for sequential and random read and write performance.

Both will be backed by a three-year warranty and the price is still not revealed, despite the fact that the entire lineup is listed at Kingston's website. Currently, the 30, 60 and 120GB models are selling in Europe for around €36, €52 and €100, respectively.
