Gigabyte shows off its Z97 motherboards

With Black Edition motherboard

Since we are just a few weeks from the official launch of Intel's 9-series chipsets which will bring support for the upcoming Intel Haswell Refresh CPUs, it is not surprising to see Gigabyte tease and announce its three new motherboards based on Intel's Z97 Express chipset, the Z97X-UD5H BK (Black Edition), the Z97X-SOC Force and the Z97X-UD7 TH.

All three motherboards are based on Gigabyte's Ultra Durable design and will feature support for both Nvidia SLI and AMD Crossfire configurations. The rest of the features include up to four SATA 6.0Gbps ports, depending on the model, SATA Express port, 7.1-channel audio, Gigabit Ethernet or Killer E2200 NIC, Thunderbolt 2 support (on the Z97X-UD7 TH and the Z97X-UD5H BK) as well as plenty of overclocking features.

As you already guessed, the Z97X-UD5H-BK Black Edition will pack most of the overclocking feature while the Z97X-SOC Force features four PCI-Express slots, orange on black color scheme and stands for "Super Over Clock". The Z97X-UD7 TH will mostly be focused on Thunderbolt 2 connectivity.

Of course, Gigabyte is still keeping all the juicy details for the official launch and we are sure we will see more info as soon as Intel gives a green light.
