Conclusion

Overall + -
With their G2, LG succeeded in creating a convincing smartphone. What you get is a seriously quick device, which features a surprisingly modest price of 471 Euro in case of the 32 Gigabyte version, according to Geizhals.at. Since the chassis has been made from polycarbonate, the build quality is good when compared to other plastic smartphones, although like always, it would be great if smartphones were generally made from metal. We were rather impressed by the fact that this is one of the thinnest smartphones which were launch back in 2013. Furthermore, we were really surprised about the audio quality of the headset but audio calls quality was not at highest level.   - Performance - Price - Update cycle

Design / Bild Quality   + -
LG chose to make the G2 a high-end device therefore it is important that this smartphone features a well thought and decent design and the fact that there is a frameless screen certainly adds to that. The finish is decent if you consider that this is a plastic smartphone but apparently cannot be compared to alumium bodies. Since the LG G2 build quality is high there are no squeaking whatsoever even if you bend the device. In case of the display, LG is using sapphire glass.
On another note, we think the location of the power button is rather odd. Since it is at an exposed location on the back there is the chance it gets pushed while you carry the phone in your pocket.

Performance / Battery   + -
Since it is equipped with a Snapdragon 800 SoC, there is definitely nothing to complain when it comes to performance. The quad-core CPU part is clocked at 2.3 GHz and we did not notice any throttling at all during our testing. Therefore this is basically a state-of-the smartphone when it comes to performance. Also the integrated Adreno 330 GPU is performing very well and scores in all benchmarks are very close to the fastest smartphones out there. One could almost say, that the phone is punching out of its league, especially if you consider its price.
The G2 is also great when it comes to battery life. There is really not much more to expect from a phone than what you get in this case.
  - Overall Performance - Battery life

Display / Camera   + -
The LG G2 is equipped with a 5.2-inch display True HD IPS Plus panel which provides life-like colors while both contrast and brightness are really good. We also can't complain about the camera. You get a 13 megapixel sensor, which is doing a perfectly great job. When taking videos, we were really surprise by the optical image stabilizer, which is doing a remarkably good job. Like all other phones picture quality is good if objects are brightly lit or in case you are using the flash. If you try taking pictures in the dark you will start to see the limits of this camera.   - IPS Panel - Image stablization - Life-like colors - Sharp images - Strong noise under bad lighting conditions

Recommendation / Price   + -
The G2 from LG is a great and very well built smartphone. According to Geizhals.at prices for this phone are starting at 371 Euro within Europe for the 16 Gigabyte version. In case of the 32 Gigabyte model you'll have to pay 471 Euro, which is also an attractive price. For this kind of money, you get a state-of-the-art smartphone with impressive performance and exceptional battery life. Other than that there is a complete bundle and also the quality of the headset is great.   - Pricing
