Enermax ETS-T40 ReviewPublished by Hiwa Pouri on 25.03.14 (25920 reads) Page:
Today we're going take a look at the new Enermax ETS-T40, of which Enermax made two differently colored versions: one is white and the other one black. In this review we're testing the white cluster which is technically the same as the black version apart from the different color. This cooler features four direct touch copper heatpipes. The Enermax ETS-T40 is made from copper and the fins are made from aluminium. It features four heatpipes with six millimeter diameter which are in direct contact with the CPU. There is no baseplate through which the heatpipes are routed. In case of the Enermax ETS-T40 you get a full-tower cooler. Overall this cooler is very well made and it looks nice and clean. Definitely the most unique feature about this cooler is it's color. The matte white is something we haven't seen with a cooler before. Other than that build quality is also on a really high level, although for example the base could have been lapped. In the bundle there is a 120mm PWM fan. On the back of this fan you will find a really nice feature, since there is a little switch that lets you choose maximum rotation speeds of the rotor. The settings you can choose from are 800 to 1500 rpm, 800 to 1800 rpm or 800 to 2200 rpm.
The bundle and the box are also quite simple. The box is made out of solid cardboard and although it is only protected by a plastic shroud our sample arrived without a single dent or any damage whatsoever. The bundled fan is not attached to the tower while the rest of the mounting components are placed in a separate plastic bag. The bundle includes an installation manual, mounting components, four fan clips, Dow Corning thermal compound n.5121 in a small syringe as well as a 120 millimeter fan and the heatsink itself.
