With the 200K, Cougar has a entry-level keyboard with standard layout in its portfolio. The advantage of this layout is that the keyboard features normal size without extra macro keys or multimedia buttons and it does not take as much space on the desk. A Few months ago we have reviewed the 700K and 600K from Cougar, which are gaming gaming devices with mechanical switches. In order to keep the cost low in this keyboard the 200K has been equipped with scissor switches. It's the same switches you usually find in notebooks. Basically these are slim rubber dome switches, which help keeing the height of the keyboard low. Typing is overall comfortable but not as fast as on a mechanical keyboard - what was expected. Cougar decided to equip the 200K with a backlight, which can make the keyboard glow in blue, red or green.
