Conclusion

Overall we can say that the MSI Gaming 27-6QE is a good all-in-one system, which is even capable of serious gaming. Apart from that it's alswo a very fast office machine. The looks are always a very subjective topic, but we believe that the red frame, which is a characteristic feature of the MSI Gaming lineup, is a bit too flashy for a work environment. We liked the high build quality very much and the fact that high quality materials have been used, really leaves a good impression.

The performance of this system is where we expected it to be and especially the Intel i7-6700 CPU gets the job done quickly. Apart from that, there is 16GB of DDR4 memory, which will even be enough in two years from now. The graphics card available on this model is a GTX 980M which provides performance similar and sometimes even higher than a GTX 780. We tested the Gaming 27-6QE with different games, applications and benchmarks and the results are sufficient for 1080p gaming. The storage has been a pleasant surprise, since there is a RAID0 with two 128GB SSD. The combination is actually very fast. Apart from that there is a 2TB HDD.
Since the system is quite compact (it's just a little bit bigger than a normal 27" display) we were surprised to find temperatures similar and comparable to gaming notebooks. Applying heavy workload we measured 80°C on the CPU and on the GPU, which is in-line for such a system. In order to maintain these temperatures all the fans start spinning fast very soon creating a lot of noise. While in idle the AIO is silent we can't say the same under full load, even with small loads on the CPU the system is noise rather quickly.

The MSI Gaming 27-6QE isn't flawless and we would like to see more ports, especially the ones which are used on a daily basis on the left and right side. Overall on this model you will find two USB 2.0, three USB 3.0 and one USB 3.1 Type-C.

The MSI Gaming 27-6QE is available on AK Informatica for 2599 Euro. In our opinion the price is accurate. We initially tried to compare this system with a gaming laptop with similar features and performance, but we believe that the comparison is not good since there is a big difference regarding display size. In our opinion, this system competes with the Apple iMac solutions, which are substantially more expensive but with higher resolution. We know that the price is quite steep, but in the end you're paying for the sleek ans slim design of a powerful AiO. The MSI Gaming 27-6QE receives 4 stars out of 5.
