Conclusion

With the GPM-1000C Chieftec released a solid power supply. There is a costly AC filtering stage, a high end fan as well as excellent Nippon Chemi-Con capacitors, which - amongst other parts - add up to an overall good product. All the components mentioned comply with high standards. This is actually a reliable PSU, which is esily capable of providing power to a file server for example. In this context you'd have to consider that there are no less than 10 SATA power connectors included in the delivery. Unfortunately we have a hard time understanding why there are only four 8-pin PCIe power plugs. A high-quality 1000W PSU is capable of powering three graphics cards and therefore we would have expected at least six 8-pin PCIe connectors. The partially modular connector panel anyway only offers limited connectivity. Nevertheless this PSU is available at a very reasonable price point. We find this unit on Geizhals with prices starting at 151 Euro. The only thing we would really like to see changed is the warranty. Chieftech only offers two years of coverage. Other PSU vendors offer up to seven years warranty.

The Chieftec Navitas 1000W receives good 4 out of 5 stars.
