AVM equipped the Fritz!Box 7490 with a NAS feature. There are two USB ports, which can be populated with USB 3.0 devices. In order to avoid any kind of bottlenecks from the USB device, we connected a 256 Gigabyte Corsair Voyager GTX USB 3.0 Stick. Our tests revealed average write speeds of 8.6 MB/s and average read speeds of 12.1 MB/s, which is between 5 (write speed) and 8 (speed) times lower than what we've expected, based on the sequential throughput performance obtained with our first series of tests. Both test systems have been equipped with a PCIe SSD to completely eliminate the possibility of the bottlenecking.
