The Define R6 features a simple and
clean design, and is made from black metal, plastic and a little bit of aluminum. The front
door features a matte black panel which is made from aluminum and covers one 5.25" slot placed at the top of the case. Furthermore there is a large dust filter. The bundle also includes two Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP14 140mm fans. The door itself, as
well as the side panels, are equipped with sound-absorbing material of good quality and thickness,
which has become a trademark for most Fractal Design cases. The locking mechanism is sturdy and well-designed.
Unlike other models, Fractal Design has also implemented a system which allows
to switch the opening direction of the door.
The I/O panel features two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0
ports, the power and reset buttons as well as the standard audio jacks. On both sides of the front panel there are slits that allow the front fans to
pull-in fresh air. The side panels, even if they look quite simple, are actually an important feature, being equipped with noise absorbing material, which is actually pretty heavy and doing a great job at blocking the noise.
The back panel is simple and you get seven plus two PCI expansion slots, the opening for the
motherboard I/O panel, a 140mm fan slot and the opening for the standard ATX power supply. What's special is the fact that graphics cards can be installed vertically as well, thanks to the two additional expansion slots. Underneath the case there are four plastic feet with an alumium finish, which ensure that the PSU gets enough fresh air to operate correctly. |
