Handling

General

Connecting and installing the mouse will work without any problems. Due to its shape it fits very well to the hand and even working in office, it can convince with good control. The software delivered does not need to be installed but because of the many features and programming possiblities we recommend to install it. The 5K brings up to 161 gram onto the balance which makes it quite a heavy-weight.

Ergonomics

The mouse can be accelerated very precisely which gives you good control of the cursor. You might need to get used to keep the quite big and heavy mouse in your hand but after a while you wont give it back anymore. Especially after using it for a longer time, the size will be of value. Altogether the mouse is very well manufactured which you for example see it surface. Even when playing with sweaty hands, you wont loose grip. Furthermore the thumb buttons are placed very well and even for users with short thumbs, the buttons can be reached without problems. The buttons for DPI switching are positioned in back of the scrollwheel and can be used without moving the hand from its position.

Gliding characteristics

Especially at the beginnin we would have expected more from the 5K than what we finally felt when moving the mouse over an adequate pad. During the first hours of usage the big glide pads which are relatively hard and the feeling you get is more of a grinding noise then a noiseless and swift gliding. After some hours when the relatively sharp edges of the glidepads have been rounded the movements start to feel homogenous.

Precision / Speed

In our case it took us quite a while until we really got familiar with the feel of this mouse. At the beginning the anticipation of the movents didn't really work out very well. The combination of the big glidepads and the big body make the thing a bit clumsy. Several hours later at the point of time when the gliding characteristics have become better it started to feel better and even swift movements ended in a precise action.
