The ASUS HD7770 DirectCU Top is a Radeon HD 7770 graphics card, which is based partially on AMDs reference design. That part that has been entirely built according to AMDs specifications concerns the PCB. There nothing has been touched by ASUS. What ASUS did themselves, that's the cooler. They decided to make use of a model that is more silent when the fans are at full speed. Like this they gave away some of the overclocking potential of this card. Furthermore the card also comes with a factory overclocking. 

A closer look at the clock speeds reveals that the GPU has been overclocked significantly. The GPU operates at 1'120 MHz and the memory at 2'300 MHz (effective 4'600 MHz). Furthermore there is a total of 1'024 Megabyte of GDDR5 memory that is connected to the GPU via a 128 Bit memory interface. Therefore the card offers 73'600 Megabyte per second of memory bandwidth.

The GPU itself consists of 1.5 billion transistors and it is being manufactured at TSMC using their latest 28 nanometer process technology. As a midrange model the Radeon HD 7770 ships with 40 TMUs, 40 TAUs and 16 ROPs. Overall there are 640 shader units.
