Result Analysis and Discussion

Efficiency 115V

Load Efficiency
20 % 91.41 %
50 % 92.37 %
100 % 89.45 %

The Platinum Energy certification requirements (90% ; 92% ; 89%) are surpassed especially at 20% Load. The full Load efficiency is a bit higher at 230V AC. This is in most PSU's the case and mainly come out of the reason of lower losses in the AC filtering and in the PFC at 230V AC. Unfortunately this 80Plus test report does not contain Information about the 230V efficiency. The 230V AC 100% Load efficiency is expected to be between 89.5-90.5%.

Output Stability

Load Rail Loading(A) Output
20 % 5V 2.0 5.0
3.3V 2.0 3.3
12V1 8.4 12.3
5VSB 0.4 5.1

50 % 5V 5.0 5.0
3.3V 5.0 3.3
12V1 21.0 12.2
5VSB 1.0 5.1

100 % 5V 10.0 5.0
3.3V 10.0 3.3
12V1 41.9 12.2
5VSB 1.0 5.0

The Voltage Regulation of this PSU is very good. It makes use of a DC-DC aproach, which means, that this PSU is mainly a 12V PSU and then generates its 5 and 3.3V from 12V. This is a very modern approach, and since the Load is mainly on 12V it makes a lot of sense. Like most PSUs which use this topology the voltage regulation and the crossload test do not represent any issue.
