Conclusion

General + -
This Radeon HD 7790 DirectCU II OC from ASUS has definitely been able to convince us. First of all the cooler is really good and able to keep the card cool and noiseless being in idle or under heavy 3D load. Furthermore we like its design. Second it's the highest clocked HD 7790 among many others. Although you get a very good cooler and high factory overclocking, it is not overpriced, ASUS sells it for only 10 Euro more than the cheapest HD 7790 around. Last but not least with AMD's Never Settle Reloaded you get BioShock Infinite for free with the purchase of this card.
Enough for the bright side, because yes this card isn't perfect, we have seen one "major" downside. Usually as a customer when I see a DirectCU 2 series card I expect two things: a DirectCU 2 cooler and a kickass uber custom PCB design with a beefed up power stage. Here it's just not the case because ASUS chose to keep the reference PCB instead.
  - Price
- Noiseless in both 2D & 3D
- Bioshock Infinite FREE
- Bundle
- Design
- Factory Overclocking
- Reference PCB - no MOSFET heatsink

Performance   + -
Thanks to the factory overclocking, the DirectCU II OC is about 4.5 % faster on average in games than the same card with reference clocks.
You won't be able to play games with highest graphics settings with this card mostly due to the 1'024 MB of memory but the card is powerful enough to play even recent, demanding games at 1680 x 1050 with high settings and 2xMSAA smoothly.
The power consumption in idle is the same as the reference card from AMD (in this case it comes from Club3D). Our entire setup was drawing no more than 52 Watts.
Under load we measured  112 Watts, 9 Watts higher than the reference clocked card.
In the end the DirectCU II OC still benefits of one of the best Performance/Watt ratios and a good Performance/Price ratio.
  - Performance/Watt
- Power Consumption in idle
- Power Consumption under load

Recommendation   + -
We for sure do recommend this card, it's not overpriced and it features an excellent cooler and a factory overclocking on both memory and GPU that squeeze performance up by 4.5 %.   - Mid-Range Gaming

We gave the Radeon HD 7790 DirectCU II OC from ASUS the almost perfect award of 4.5 out of 5 stars.
