Connectors and I/O

Gigabyte equipped the Z97X-UD5H BK with a total of eight angled SATA ports. Six of them are directly wired to the PCH, and two are connected to a chip from Marvell. Additionally you find a SATA-Express port as well as an M.2 slot. Any office setup, gaming system or multimedia computer can therefore be provided with plenty of drives. There are onboard power and reset buttons and there is also a debug LED. On this board there are also voltage measuring points.

There are six fan headers on the Z97X-UD5H BK in total. This is more than enough, to provide a well equipped office, multimedia or gaming system with fresh air. Two fan headers are located around the CPU socket for dual fan cpu coolers as well as watercooling systems. The other four fan headers are spread over the motherboard. Furthermore there are only 4-pin headers, which is great, since you'll be able to control rotation speeds of all fans via BIOS or from within Windows using Gigabytes Easy Tune software.

Looking at the external connectors directly at the back-panel Gigabyte equipped the Z97X-UD5H BK with a P/S2 mouse/keyboard connector, six USB 3.0/2.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, two gigabit ethernet ports, an HDMI connector, a VGA header, a DVI port as well as an optical out and an analogue audio panel.
