Test conditions

Regarding our headset test, especially the microphone one, we subjectively describe acoustics, microphone quality as well as ergonomics. The end result therefore relies also on the tester himself. We are doing our best to ensure comparable results even if different reviewers were testing different products. We think these reviews can be seen as a help if you like to buy a specific product and can therefore be seen as subjective consumer advice.

Wearing confort and ergonomics

After a few days of use, we can say that the headphones are mainly comfortable due to their weight. Unfortunately, unlike other models, we had some problems with the adjustment of the headband. The hike is very short and rather awkward to adjust. If you use glasses or 3D goggles, you could run into some issues with pressure points. The materials used for the ear cushions and for the headband is very good, rather soft and pleasant to touch. The overall quality is good and as is sound insulation.
The BitFenix Flo is available in four colors: blue, red, black and white. The headphones are made mainly of plastic, have no crunches or imperfections. The sample is solid and sturdy. BitFenix used a softouch coating on almost the entire surface of the Flo and it is very pleasant to the touch. The cable is detachable, well made and with aluminum components as well as with gold-plated header.

Acoustics

Headphone

BitFenix decided to equip the Flo with two 40 millimeters speakers, which should be able to guarantee a good sound experience. We tested the Flo with a wide variety of music, movie and games. Despite our initial fears, the Flo headset was a rather pleasant surprise and the sound is, in our opinion, well balanced. During our tests we found it has great reproduction of high, mids and bass, and BitFenix certainlz did a good job from this point of view. Only on high-volume, we found some distortion in the audio quality. If you love the deep and pumped bass, you can still raise the tone through the equalizer.
The overall quality is good, especially if you consider the price of the product and the small amount of padding around the ears.

Microphone

The microphone is made in a hard rubber housing and it is removable. The headphones come with a handy remote control, with which you can adjust the sound volume and mute/unmute the microphone. Bitfenix Flo has a very good bundle, so inside the box you get three cables total: 1m straight cable, 1m cable with the in-line remote and 2m audio cable extension.
The support is quite flexible and with memory effect, unfortunately it is always too far away from the mouth due to lack of vertical adjustment.

Conclusion

Overall, the Flo is a decent product. The build quality and the material are quite good and we expected nothing less from BitFenix. Other than that design is classic and the headset features a very good bundle. The soft cushions as well as the headband fit nicely and you will not experience any pressure points, except if you are wearing glasses or 3D goggles. Perception of audio is certainly a matter of subjectivity. In our opinion the sound is well balanced. We can say that the Flo offers good sound quality, without over-pronounced bass. The earpads that surround the 40 millimeter drivers are comfortable if you do not wear glasses or 3D goggles.

The detachable microphone, is made of flexible plastic and with memory effect. The overall quality is good but, like other products, it is still too far away from the mouth.

Checking prices on Geizhals.at we found that the Flo is listed at 60 Euro. The build quality is definitely on a good level, but since there are quite a few things that could be improved we award this headset with 3.5 out of 5 stars.
