Test conditions

Regarding our headset test, especially the microphone one, we subjectively describe the acoustics, microphone quality as well as the ergonomics. The end result therefore relies also on the tester himself. We are doing our best to ensure comparable results even if different reviewers were testing different products. We think these reviews can be seen as a help if you like to buy a specific product and can therefore be seen as subjective consumer advice.

Wearing confort and ergonomics

The Nash 20 from Mionix is a very comfortable and lightweight headset, where the soft material used on the ear cushions is adding a lot to that feeling. The headband is made of high quality plastic and some rubber, whereas the latter is rather soft and pleasant to touch. The headphones in general are almost entirely made from plastic while the earcups are covered with black soft touch material. In order to provide stability the headband is made from metal. Searching for remote controls we find them one of the ear cups. Most other manufacturers integrate them into the cable. Talking about the cable, it is not removable but braided and it blends in perfectly, quality wise. What's also not removable is the microphone which has been attached to the left ear cup.

Acoustics

Headphone

Mionix decided to equip the Nash 20 with two neodymium DACT drivers, which measure 50 mm in diameter. We've tested the Nash 20 with a wide variety of music, movie and games. The Nash 20 headset was a rather pleasant surprise and the sound is, in our opinion, well balanced. During our tests we found it has great reproduction of high, mids and bass, and Mionix certainly did a good job from this point of view. Only on high-volume, we found some distortion in the audio quality. If you love the deep and pumped bass, you can still raise these frequencies using an equalizer. The overall quality is excellent, which is something we actually expected to experience with a product from Mionix.

Microphone

The microphone in our opinion is very good and the design used by Mionix is a great addition. As you can see from the pictures there is no remote control to activate or deactivate the microphone, like many other models, the microphone is activated automatically when you lower the arm. The sound captured is clear and can be described as natural on Skype as well as Team Speak.

Conclusion

Overall, the Nash 20 is a very good product. As we expected it from Mionix, the build quality is on a very high level. The design of this headset can be described as classic and on top of that it is ultra light and very comfortable to wear. We usually test the headset for many hours and we have to admit that this headset is something that you simply forget that it is on your head since it only weighs 298 gramms. The soft ear cushions as well as the headband fit nicely and you will not experience any pressure points, even if you are wearing glasses or 3D goggles. In our opinion, the Nash 20 is one of the most comfortable headsets we've tested so far. Perception of audio is certainly a matter of subjectivity but in our opinion the sound is well balanced. We can say that the Nash 20 offers good sound quality, without over-pronouncing bass frequencies. The microphone is made of plastic material and positioned on an arm with memory effect. The sound quality is good and on Skype as well as TeamSpeak it sounds natural and clear.
We appreciate the minimalistic design of the Nash 20, but then again, design is always a matter of taste.

Checking prices on Geizhals.at we found that the Nash 20 is listed for 100 Euro. The quality is great and the comfort of Nash 20 is simply incredible. The microphone is perfect and in our opinion, the price is in line with similar products on the market. With this in mind, we the Nash 20 from Mionix is well worth a very good 4.5 out of 5 stars.
