Raijintek Triton Review
Category : Watercooling
Published by Marc Büchel on 06.05.15
With the Triton, Raijintek has a first all-in-one watercooler in its portfolio. In this case you can get an AiO with 240 millimeter aluminium radiator and two PWM fans for 84 Euro. This makes us hope for lots and lots of cooling performance. Apart from that the manufacturer decided to ship this expandable unit with coolant in three different colors. This is definitely nice to have and shows that Raijintek is taking that extra step.

After a bunch of standard air coolers, German company Raijintek decided to make their own AIO water cooling system. Today we have the pleasure to check out the Raijintek Triton compact liquid cooling system, which should be perfectly suitable for powerful gaming PCs or rigs that need good cooling potential with decent temperatures. The special 240mm radiator on the Triton is slightly thinner than a normal 240mm radiator, which should help in improving performance. The Raijintek Triton is an expandable water cooling system which allows the user to change, repair or clean every part of the cooler. Raijintek also included tree different coolant colors, green, blue and red, in the bundle allowing users to match it with the case or other components. The build quality is on a really high level and it features a cooper water block with micro-channels. The bundle includes two 120mm PWM fans, the cooler itself and the mounting system that supports most, if not all, recent Intel and AMD socket CPUs.

The Triton is actually Raijintek's first liquid cooler and it is about time we see what this AIO liquid cooler can do when compared to the rest of the competitors.

As it can also be seen on the pictures, the manufacturing quality of the Triton is quite impressive. Raijintek decided to go for high quality materials, which is not far from what they did with their air coolers. The Triton features a 275 x 32 mm radiator made from aluminium and a water block with an integrated pump and reservoir mounted on top of them. Furthermore, that same pump comes with ceramic bearings which should make it inaudible. To be precise, the dimensions of the Triton are 275mm x 120mm x 32mm (WxHxD). Raijintek has also decided to use the new, and quite good looking, transparent design for the pump/reservoir part which makes it a unique AIO liquid cooler on the market. The supplied fans also come with a new design that works quite well with the rest of the Triton AIO liquid cooler. Raijintek decided to pair the Triton with two 120x25mm PWM fans, which go well with other high-quality AIO liquid cooler components.

The packaging is quite standard for an all-in-one water cooling system as you get the AIO unit, which includes the block, reservoir and pump, two fans, manual and the mounting kit. Raijintek Triton is compatible with AMD and Intel-based systems, with a single backplate. In addition, we found a Y-split fan cable, a small 1g package of thermal compound, and three bottles of different color (red, blue and green) coolant.

Raijintek has a two year warranty backing the Triton AIO liquid cooler.

Installation

The installation procedure is quite easy, simple and practical. It is pretty much self-explanatory and in case you are not familiar with AIO liquid systems, everything is clearly explained in the manual. The design is not completely tool-less as you will still need a screwdriver in order to mount the fans and the  cooling block. The pressure on the CPU is very good and since the base/pump is a low profile design there should not be any clearance issues as even the tubing can be moved in any direction without worrying about the blockage or leaking. Regarding the tubes you should be aware, there is no anti-kink protection, which means that you should not choose very tight bending radius.

To measure the cooling capacity we took temperatures in idle and load with the fans at 7 and 12 V. The idle temperature represents the lowest temperature hit by the processor package after 10 minutes in idle. The load temperature is the highest temperature hit by the processor after one pass of wPrime v2.10. The wPrime test takes 4 minutes and puts load on all 8 threads. Room temperature is at 25°C.

At this point we plugged the fan(s) to the motherboard CPU fan header and let the motherboard take care of fan speeds. In other words the motherboard will adjust the fan speed via PWM signal according to CPU temperature. The idle temperature is the lowest temperature hit by the processor after 10 minutes in idle. The load temperature is the highest temperature hit by the processor after one pass of wPrime v2.10. The wPrime test takes 4 minutes puts load on all 8 threads. Room temperature is 25°C.

Decibel meter (Voltcraft SL-200) has been placed 1 meter away from the cooler. Measurements are conducted in a quiet room, where there are no other noise source. The 32 dBA measurement is the lowest we were able to get in our room.. Also here the measurements are conducted at lowest and highest fan speeds in idle and under load, respectively.

Conclusion

General + -
Overall, the Raijintek Triton is a very good product which was able to impress us especially thanks to good manufacturing quality. Raijintek offers a lot of cooling performance with their first AIO liquid cooling system and while the performance is always important, the noise can also be pushed to a very low level when the fans are connected to a fan controller.   - Cooling capacity - Quality - PWM
- Differently colored coolant included - Design
- Noise levels 7V and 12V and PWM

Installation   + -
The installation is rather simple, as it is practical and pretty straightforward. With included mounting systems for Intel and AMD comibined with a single backplate for both mounting systems and with an easy to understand manual, it will be hard to experience difficulties while installing the Triton. The thermal paste comes in a small bag and there is 1 gram of it. This is enough for a few applications.   - Easy and practical
- Compatible Intel and AMD

Performance   + -
The Raijintek Triton series has very good cooling performance in every scenario, including 7V and 12V as well as the PWM mode. We tested the Triton with our fan controller which we use for all reviews. With the fans sets to 7V, the Triton managed to score a good fourth place and at 12V, it becomes one of the best performing AIO liquid cooling systems we've tested so far, scoring a great third place. In the chart, we have only added the results with fans controlled by motherboard since even with the overclock preset, load temperatures were not dropping by more than 2°C.   - Cooling performance

Noise Levels   + -
The pump on the Raijintek Triton is not inaudible but not noisy either. While using two fans and 7V setting, the Triton is subjectively audible and hits 37 dBA. At 12V, we measured 49.7 dBA at 3'480 rpm, which is actually loud. When testing the cooler with the PWM feature, noise levels do not go past 36.2 dBA, which is between silent and audible. Keep in mind this is our method of testing all coolers as we use a fan controller and set the fans to 7V and 12V. Rajintek included a fan controller to connect both fans and in that case, both in idle and under load, it shows only 35.6 dBA, which is actually silent. With these results, we strongly recommend that you use the included fan controller.   - Noiseless pump

- Noise levels 7V and 12V and PWM

Recommendation / Price   + -
With all this in mind, we simply have no choice but to recommend the Raijintek Triton AIO liquid cooler and we certainly do it with a great pleasure. With a price of 84 Euros, it is well priced and in combination with the given performance is is simply a great product.   - Price - Enthusiast
- Overclocking
- Modding
- Gaming-PC

Rating
