Front
Overview |
Features |
|
|
|
|
The
front is equipped with nine 5.25 inch bezels. Three of them cover a fan
which provides the hard drives with fresh air. Looking at the whole front
area the perforated bezels give the Fanqua it's individual looks. |
In
the upper area of the front you find the I/O Panel as well as the ON /
OFF and Reset buttons. Not mounted on top the I/O Panel isn't as easy to
access as it could be. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
All the bezeles are fixed in the front by a "two point clamping"
which makes exchanging drives childrens play. The intake fans are
aligned with inlet-holes on the bezels. These are equipped with air
filters to stop dust. |
Also the drives are being fixed using a "two point clamping".
Therefore the mechanism in the center of the fixing bar can be rotated
by 90 degree to get released. |

Overview |
Features |
|
|
|
|
On the backside
you find an outtake fan with a diameter of 120 millimeters. Right below
there are seven slot bezels located which unfortunately need to be
broken out before you can install a card. After you did that you cannot
put them in anymore. |
If you want
to remove the side panels you can do that by releasing the thumbscrews.
You will notice that IN WIN provided the Fanqua with very good screw
threads. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Centered on the bottom edge of the left side
panel you can find ventilation holes. Apparently it looks like they
aren't of any direct use.
Directly below the power supply unit we also find ventilation holes
which are covered by a plastic air filter. |

Left Side part 1
Overview |
Features |
|
|
|
|
Integrated into
the left side panel you find a 220 millimeter fan which can be activated
by a dip switch. A special goodie are the LED's which illuminate the
comfortably silent fan. |
To exchange PCI cards,
IN WIN has added snap closing clips. The part, where the clip-mechanism
gets contact to the card, is equipped with rubber pads to reduce noise
and keep it safe and tight in place. Unfortunately dual-slot cards can
only be tightened with one clip. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
The cage
where the hard drives are mounted seems very practical at a first glance
but if you take a closer look you'll see that there are issues. When you
install the drives before you've installed the motherboard there is no
problem but if you would like to exchange or add a hard drive when the
motherboard is already in palce you wont be able to take the cage out
anymore unless you remove the motherboard. |
The
220 mm fan is very silent and can be exchanged by two 120 mm fans if you
should prefer that solution. |

Left Side part 2
Overview |
Features |
|
|
|
|
Using the internal hard drive cage you can put up to three
hard drives into the Fanqua. Furthermore IN WIN provided the Fanqua with
a 5.25'' carrier for 2.5'' drives. |
The
hard drive cage is equipped with a 120 mm fan which also is of a silent
breed. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
The hard drives need to be
attached to the cage using screws which might be a small issue because
you have to put each screw through a small hole which isn't very
ergonomic. On the other side standard 5.25'' drives can be installed
very easily. After you slid the drive in you take the
two-point-clamping-bar and rotated the yellow know in the middle by 90
degrees. |
If
you own a tower cooler which comes with a 120 mm fan you wont be able to
close the side panel when it is equipped with the 220 mm fan. At this
point we would wish that the case was two centimeters wider. |

Right Side

Very practical is the fact that
the mainboard tray comes with a hole where you mount the CPU cooler. If
you ever assebled a PC yourself you'll also appreciate the folded edges. |

Top
Overview |
Features |
|
|
|
|
Integrated into the top you find one more 120
millimeter fan. Also this one is silent and isn't disturbing at all.
Furthermore the yellow fan blades underline the Fanquas fresh and a bit
funky design.
To provied cases inside with some more space IN WIN created an extension
where they put the 120 millimeter fan in. It also generates an
interesting silhouette. |

Bottom
Overview |
Features |
|
|
|
|
In the bottom of the case, directly below
the power supply unit there is an airduct which is covered with a removable airfilter. |
You
also find four rubber feet which provide the case with a safe stand. |

Conclusion
General |
|

With the Fanqua IN WIN shows a
good case which unfortunately has some issues. But as soon as you start looking
at the price you wont be bothered anymore.

Manufacturing quality / Ergonomics |
|
+ |

The Fanqua is astonishingly well manufactured.
Therefore the build quality is on a high level especially for such a cheap
price. Every single piece fits perfectly and even the screw thread for all the
screws are brilliant.
But unfortunately as soon as you start installing your hardware you will notice
that there are some issues. At the beginning everything goes well but when you
for example want to exchange hard drives when you already installed an ATX
mainboard you wont be able to remove the hard drive cage anymore. Furthermore
the clips for the expansion card only work with single-slot cards. If you use a
dual slot-slot graphics card you wont be able to tighten one of the two clips.

Design |

With the Fanqua IN WIN really succeeded in
creating a gaming case that has a characteristic but not junky design. The
yellow spots are well chosen and generate a fresh and even a bit fancy overall
picture. Especially the fans with their yellow blades are nice to look at. |
