After our first review of a gaming chair was quite a success, we're going to have a close look at another model. This particular chair is a little more expensive than the last one we reviewed, and therefore it should offer great quality and good comfort.

Today we're haveing a close look at the Vertagear S-Line SL4000 gaming chair, which is available in many different colors. In this review we're going to have a close look at the black/carbon variant.

The Vertagear S-Line SL4000 came in a big carboard box, where we found all the pieces we need to correctly assemble the chair. Every piece is protected, so you shouldn't have any bad surprises when you open the box the first time. Assembling this chair is pretty easy and intuitive, and you can do it using a few tools which are actually inside the box. The whole chair sits on a metal base with 5 arms featuring the same number of plastic wheels. This base is also connected to the gas spring which allows you to adjust the height of the chair. As we have already seen on other gaming chairs, you can also tilt it back, which rather cozy for watching a movie.

The chair itself looks a lot like a racing seat as it can be found in on for example rally cars - like every other gaming chair available on the market. Vertagear is using leatherette to cover the cushions and on this model they're being kept in black/carbon colors. The Armrests are pretty simple: they can be adjusted in height, and they can be also rotated by 45° in both directions. If you seek additional comfort, you can use the bundle cushions: there is a neck cushion which is pretty soft and comfortable, and a lumbar support cushion which is a bit harder at first, but it will slowly adapt to the user's weight, and after that you won't be able to live without it. The chair padding is soft enough to be comfortable, but stiff enough not to give in after a few days of use, and it will stay comfortable even during the most intense gaming sessions. The Vertagear S-Line SL4000 allows you to change the angle of the back rest, but unlike other chairs you can't put it into a 180° position. But honestly this isn't too important, since you're never going to use a chair in that position, except you want to fall over. Once again, we have to complain about the plastic pieces used to cover the central hinge, which are pretty cheap for a chair in this price range.

Conclusion

Many people say these gaming chairs are just stylish but that they are not worth the money, especially if you compare them to standard office chairs. We have to say, they are probably right: these chairs are expensive, but they are also comfortable and stylish looking, so if you spend a lot of hours sitting at your desk working, you might want to consider to buy one of these because you won't regret it, and neither will your back, which will be kept in the right position avoiding annoying back pain.
In terms of quality, we like the nice leatherette material, but we love to see more robust plastic covers on the sides. Apart from that this chair is made for people weighing not more than 120kg.

The Vertagear S-Line SL4000 is selling for 299 € including VAT. If you're interested in getting one of these chairs, we'd recommend you to head over to Caseking and select from the many differen color options available.

We gave the Vertagear S-Line SL4000 gaming chair 4 out of 5 stars.
