Choiix, a sub brand of Cooler Master, has sent us a new gadget, which is called BoomBoom Speaker. This compact loudspeaker tries to win the heart of gadget freaks with a low price and a very nice design.

Overview
The Speaker is available in two different colors black and white. You may choose whichever you like better and both are available for about CHF 32.00. The Boom Boom Speaker is by no means a bank breaker but what do you get for the price?
The Boom Boom Speaker will connect to any device supporting a 3.5mm jack. This means that you can also use it on portable DVD players, netbooks and laptops. The audio wire comes out right beside the mini-USB port meant to deliver power to the unit. It wraps around the entire unit before clipping in at the back, as shown on the above picture.
Powering the speaker is a very easy because you can simply use any of the USB ports and connect it to the Mini USB port on the device.
Opening its lid reveals a metallic mesh protecting the speakers inside. It revolves around a steel rod, solidly anchored in the plastic frame on both sides. The lid also acts as a stand for the speaker when opened at its maximum.

Conclusion
The Choiix Boom Boom Speaker has a small form factor with a one of a kind design. Its booming functionality and small price helps to make it a nice product. It is great using with a laptop, MP3/4, DVD player or phone use as well as anything else you can conjure up, as long as you have a USB connection to power it. The overall sound quality is greatly diminished, like most speaker setups at maximum volume. All in all, for its very thin and tiny size, the BoomBoom travel speaker offers a decent sound quality and sound volume. The BoomBoom slim travel speaker has the perfect form factor to be carried alongside a laptop. Even though it can play music from any other device, thanks to its 3.5 mm analog audio jack, it still needs power from a USB port, so a nearby computer is required. Laptops are really the targeted audience anyway.
