Now that high memory volumes are more affordable, we see more and more 16 and 32 GB kits flood the market. Another drop in the sea of those products is a fresh G.Skill Ares model, which we are going to look at today. One special thing about G.Skill's Ares series is their heatspreader, which features a low profile design. In other words these stick will fit underneath absolutely every single cooler.

Having offered a bunch of CL10 rated models for over a year, G.Skill have decided to step things down and also throw CL11 into their dual channel DDR3-2400 lineups, Ares included.
At 11-13-13, the default timings seem quite loose but, looking at the -1400- part of the serial numbers, some optimism immediately comes back as we realise that we are dealing with Hynix-based memory, which is known to be highly overclockable. Whether this statement also applies to the 2400C11, we will find out at page four but for now, let us have get physical with the Ares.
