Re: HW photography thread #13
Currently i'm using a Canon Eos 1100D with 18-55mm lens and a tripod (an economic one) but like someones said i think that the best way to make good photos is to have light's control. Personally i prefer to shoot photos on white screen and outside, sometimes i use a softbox too but i think that it doesn't give good depth to the model.

Actually I forgot to talk about the light and backgrounds. Meanwhile we started playing with black background. It can be really helpful to vary the background color in order to get true colors. Also the contrast in general is much higher on black background than on a white one. If all settings are perfect with white background, such as exposure and lighting, then you'll end up with pics with a perfect white background. But this really sometimes takes us a few attempts until we have a satisfying result.

When it comes to lighting we're using four neon lamps and each of them consumes 53W and the light temperature is 4000K.

Re: HW photography thread #16
Small add..since tripod sometimes is too height and far away, I have found the right solution on Manfrotto site

MP3-BK

Pocket has been developed to fit these basic requirements:
• Maximum Body weights of 800g/1.7lbs
• Maximum 85mm Focal Length
• Maximum total payload 1.5kg/ 3.3 lbs.

My Nik with all on..is about 1.5kg so it's perfect and sturdy

With 1/80 me neither, but I shot usually in 1/5 (or so) and without tripod could be blurry
