der8auer hits 7'056 MHz on Core i7-6700K

A little gem

Although it is expected that Kaby Lake is going to be launched very soon well-known overclocker Roman “der8auer” Hartung has found yet another exceptionally well overclocking Intel Core i7-6700K CPU.

The Intel Core i7-6700K is out since Q3 2015. Despite the fact, that overclockers have now spent well over a year trying to find the best possible CPU, only a handful of chips have been discovered that were and still are able to hit the 7 GHz mark. Apparently Roman "der8auer" Hartung has found one of those very rare golden samples which is able to break through the 7GHz wall. At the moment there aren't many scores with this CPU on HWBot. The only thing that can be found so far is a CPU-Z result showing that it has been pushed to 7'056.70 MHz.

After all this is the highest ever achieved frequency with an Intel Core i7-6700K CPU, while Roman “der8auer” Hartung was able to outpace Chi-Kui Lam by 31.04 MHz.

Since the Kaby Lake launch is incoming rather soon we are not sure if we’re going to see other overclockers push max CPU-Z on their Core i7-6700K. At this point in time we’re curious to finally see what the upcoming Intel Core i7-7700K processors will be capable of.
