ASUS shows two new AM4 motherboards

Both based on B350 chipset

A few days ago ASUS has unveiled two new AMD AM4 300-series motherboards. As we already mentioned a few times, the X370 chipset is followed by the B350 and then the A320. While the first addresses the mid-range market the latter targets the entry-level segment. As a result of that the B350 chipset still allows for overclocking while the A320 doesn’t.

At the moment there are only a few details available. The full list of specifications as well as detailed pictures can most likely be expected to surface by the start of March, since by then the NDA is supposed to be lifted. So far ASUS’s B350-series will include two models: the ASUS B350 Prime Plus and the ASUS B350M-A. Both models might belong to the mid-range segment, the B350 Prime Plus is based on ATX form factor while the B350M-A is based on m-ATX form factor.

The B350 Prime Plus features a black and red color scheme with four DIMM slots. There are two PCIe Gen 3.0, two PCIe x1 and two PCI slots. On the storage side we see one M.2 slot - located below the CPU socket - and six SATA ports. Furthermore we also see one USB 3.1 port and a LAN Guard chip. The B350M-A is slightly different not only in the case of the form factor also the color scheme has been changed. Regarding the design this particular motherboard is similar to the ASUS X370-Prime. Judging by the pictures we believe that the board we’re seeing here is an early engineering sample.

On the B350M-A motherboard we find only one PCIe Gen 3.0 slot and two PCIe x1 slots. On the storage side we see one M.2 slot close to the CPU socket and six SATA ports. Since both models are more budget oriented we don't find a debug LED, onboard buttons or even RGB headers.
