Gigabyte shows GTX 1080 Ti AORUS Extreme Edition card

High-end GPU

A few weeks ago we have rumors regarding the upcoming Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti AORUS Extreme Edition have surface. While there are still no details available on the card, at least there are some pictures now.

Gigabyte has released the first official teaser on the upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. According to the picture, it appears to be identical to the GTX 1080 AORUS. The cooler used on the GTX 1080 AORUS Xtreme Edition is an improved version of the WINDFORCE Stack Cooling module which can be found on several Gigabyte graphics cards. The card features a triple slot heatsink and a dense aluminum fin stack that has been combined with three fans (WINDFORCE cooler). The entire cooler has been kept in black and there is a solid back plate presenting the Aorus logo.

Since all the latest Gigabyte Aorus products have been equipped with an armada of LEDs for RGB lighting, also this graphics card comes with several LEDs on both sides. Like on the previous model, the GTX 1080 Ti AORUS Xtreme Edition features premium-grade chokes and capacitors for an increased lifespan. Although the folks over at Videocardz didn't mention any details about the clocks, we believe that both models will ship overclocked from the factory. In the past the Extreme Edition series graphics cards from Gigabyte always came with substantial factory overclocks and clock speeds will certainly be higher than most other factory-overclocked cards.

As of today there is no date available when this card will hit the shelves of your local retailer. According to some chinese sources, the new Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti AORUS Extreme Edition will be available in mid-April but it won’t be cheap at all. We also expect that Gigabyte is going to launch at least one more version of the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.
