MSI teases GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z

Most powerful graphics card from MSI

The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z is the MSI’s flagship model, featuring a custom PCB and a custom cooler. This model is usually created for performance and extreme cooling enthusiasts, being equipped with a triple-fan cooler. Apart from that there is a new lighting system which allows you to change the color of the LEDs.

As we already mentioned the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z is going to be equipped with a custom PCB as well as a new cooler. This card is supposed to deliver excellent performance. In the past the Lightning series graphics cards from MSI always featured substantial factory overclocks and clock speeds are higher than most other factory-overclocked cards. While the GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition works at 1480MHz/1582MHz Core/Boost frequencies, this factory-overclocked MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z clocks with 1607MHz/1721MHz Core/Boost.

On the connector’s side we find the usual three DisplayPorts 1.4, one HDMI 2.0b connector and one dual-link DVI port. Since all the latest MSI motherboards have been equipped with an armada of LEDs for RGB lighting, this card also features several LEDs on both sides. Apart from that there is a solid backplate. On the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z there are three 8-pin power connectors, which is usually an indicator, that this card has been built for extreme overclocking. With the three 8-pin power connectors as well as the 75W from the PCIe slot, the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z can pull a total of 525W.

As of today there is no date available when this card will hit the shelves of your local retailer but we are sure, when that happens, the card will be expensive.
