Dell unveils UP2718Q 27-inch HDR display

With USB Type-C and KVM switch

Dell has expanded its UltraSharp series with a 27-inch model that features and 3840 x 2160 UHD resolution. Furthermore the monitor comes with a KVM switch and an USB Type-C port. According to Dell the display covers 99 percent of the Adobe RGB and sRGB color spectrum and a few other color standards.

As we already mentioned the UP2718Q monitor has been equipped with a 27-inch panel offering 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution. On the connector side of things we find one mini-DisplayPort 1.2 connector, two HDMI 2.0 ports and one USB Type-C port which offers video and data transfer capabilities. This screen even comes with a built-in KVM switch, allowing to you connect mouse and keyboard. Dell is marketing this display for content creators and the fact that the AH-IPS panel covers 99 percent of the Adobe RGB color spectrum is certainly a commitment into that direction. The grey to grey response time is specified to 8ms in "Normal mode" and to 5ms in "Fast mode".

Since this isn't a gaming monitor, you won’t find support for either FreeSync or G-Sync. On top of the convincing specs there is a very well-built aluminum frame, which allows for pan, tilt, swivel and height adjustment. Furthermore it is compatible with 100 x 100mm VESA mounts making this display ideal for multi-monitor configurations if required. The Dell UP2718Q should be available soon via Dell’s official online store for $1549 US.
