ASUS ROG STRIX Z370I Gaming pictured

Although we are still waiting for a mini-ITX AMD motherboard from ASUS, the company is already working on a model with this form factor for their upcoming Intel Coffee Lake processors. The upcoming ROG STRIX Z370I Gaming looks almost identical to its Z270 counterpart.

The ROG STRIX Z370I Gaming is an ITX form-factor motherboard. As with all other STRIX Gaming series motherboards this mini-ITX model comes with the AURA feature allowing you to change the illumination of the board from within Windows. In the case of expansion slots there is one full-sized and metal-strengthened PCIe slot as well as two M.2 slots. Since there isn’t any detailed information available so far it's hard to tell what else there is on this motherboard.

However if the ROG STRIX Z370I Gaming is identical to its counterpart there might be two M.2 slots. One could be very close to the heatsink and the other would be on the back-side of the PCB. Having a quick look at the SATA connectors we find four of them supporting the SATA-III standard.

Like other ROG STRIX motherboards the heat sinks feature a dark silver paintjob and RGB backlight. Looking for additional features we find USB 3.1 ports internally and externally, a high-quality power design and a good mix of connectors at the I/O panel. There is a Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac module that also supports Bluetooth v4.1.

So far this is the only ASUS Z370 motherboard of which pictures have leaked. Nevertheless we’re quite confident, that other vendors will launch mini ITX motherboards as well.
